Stanley Safari Lodge

Nestled in the wilderness of Zambia, on the border of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, sits Stanley Safari Lodge. The lodge is authentic and comfortable, with a cosy main house which has a feature fireplace for cooler evenings and a relaxing library area, perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring. The lodge is small and exclusive, with 10 rooms which are all authentic, with private decking areas and unique features, from baths with a view to plunge pools. Guests can chose from an open sided cottage or a traditional cottage with wooden features. All cottages overlook the rolling grasslands and endless horizons, and the golden tones of the sunset fill the cottages in the evenings. The dining room was built to appreciate the stunning views, where guests can enjoy fresh and local food whilst gazing at the breathtaking views.

Amalinda Lodge

Amalinda Lodge is set among the Matobo Hills, built into and around the granite domes and giant rocks that mark this incredible landscape. The lodge uses the existing rock features and incorporates them into its design to create a unique refuge where guests can be at one with the natural surroundings in an ancient bushman shelter. Matobo Hills is home to amazing rock sceneries rarely seen in Africa, and each room is steeped in local history with artefacts on display. Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge

Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge lies on the edge of the Gonarexhou National Park, surrounding by lush vegetation and towering trees and overlooking the tranquil waters of the Save River. From the comfort of the lodge’s spacious patio, guests will be able to spot lounging hippos, basking crocodiles and herds of elephants as they rest on the riverbanks. The lodge is light and airy, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while escaping to the cooling shade and interacting with fellow travellers. Chongwe River House

Chongwe River House represents award-winning safari design at its absolute finest. This charming, two storey, four bedroom private house is set on a serene stretch of the Chongwe River against a magnificent mountainous backdrop. The Chongwe area is well-know for its population of elephants which will frequently wander through the camp in search of seed pods from the winterthorn trees. Chongwe River House mixes smoothly into the tranquil river setting. The flowing curves and bends of the house become open living spaces that accentuate the surrounding wilderness. Waterfall showers, private open air bathtubs, furniture carved from a winterthorn tree and ceilings studded with river pebbles all combine to complete the inspired design. Throughout your stay, dedicated staff will ensure your experience is wonderful, relaxing and memorable.

 

Chamilandu Bushcamp

Chamilandu is a magnificent camp on one of the South Luangwa’s ultimate river locations, perfect for a panoramic view of the wildlife that the river and its lagoons hold. There are only three stilted chalets here, allowing guests to experience true serenity on a riverbank beneath a soaring ebony grove. Every chalet has its own raised veranda to relax on during the heat of the day, and an open-fronted en-suite bathroom with the same encapsulating views over the tranquil waters. Two of the chalets are twins (2 queen-sized beds) and one is a double (king-sized bed), making room for just six guests, perfect for small groups. Guests can gaze at thea sunset from the comfort of the thatched bar and dining area, as they watch the wildlife go through their evening routines.

Bilimungwe Bushcamp

Looking over 3 natural waterholes with many herds of elephant, Bilimungwe Bushcamp is a hidden gem tucked away under huge mahogany trees. The 4 large thatched chalets sit on stilts and have magnificent views of one or two of the three watering holes. Bilimungwe has a magnificent secret breakfast spot on the edge of Luangwa Valley, perfect to watch the sunrise over the Chindeni hills, as well as a boma ready-made for surprise outdoor dinners under the stars!

Chongwe River Suites

Indulge in luxury and seclusion while immersing yourself in the wildest of settings! Wake up to birdsong as the sun rises over the Zambezi River, reflecting the colours all around you. Playful vervet monkeys will scamper through the canopy above as you watch a herd of elephants feed on the seed pods dropped from a nearby tree. Named for local, indigenous plants that grow in the area, the Cassia and Albida Suites are tucked under ancient towering trees at the convergence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. The one-bedroom Cassia Suite is a private suite for two, perfect for honeymooners and couples, while the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Albida Suite sleeps four guests and is great for families or friends travelling together.

Flatdogs Camp

Flatdogs camp offers a blend of unique accommodations beside the South Luangwa National Park. From an opulent two bed-roomed tented house with private pool, to the wilder Jackalberry Treehouse built on platforms around four live Ebony trees, over-looking a game rich waterhole. The Chalet Suites are perfect for families and the Luxury Tents are spread out along the riverbank – offering the “Africa under canvas” experience – with elephant browsing around them and hippo grazing just outside. Even the Standard Safari Tents will spoil you with full en-suite facilities and panoramic landscapes. The South Luangwa National Park is one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world, covering 3,475 square miles of pristine wilderness in Zambia‘s Eastern Province. The South Luangwa has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation as a National Park in 1972, it offers a safari experience unmatched by any others.

Kaingo Camp

Overlooking the Luangwa River deep within the prime area of the South Luangwa National Park, Kaingo Camp offers endless beauty renowned for game viewing, providing guests with a safari journey they’ll never forget. Everything at Kaingo has been handpicked by the Shenton family, from the camps stylish design and practical layout to the choice of scrumptious, local produce grown on the Shenton Plot. The opulent, open-sided sitting room at the heart of the camp includes a dining area, library and Kaingo’s renowned thousand-year-old lead-wood bar. Each chalet boasts a stunning outdoor bathtub with cool, shady views of the spectacular vistas. A special feature of Kaingo is the unique individual decks built out over the river in front of each chalet. Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is a classic Zambian safari lodge, combining all the essentials for a great safari, located on the floodplains of the Luangwa River, away from the busier area near the park’s Mfuwe gate. During the peak season the lodge accesses the national park via its own pontoon. The lodge was fully renovated in 2019 and offers a relaxed atmosphere with great attention to detail. Made up of just ten charming chalets, the lodge also boasts a spacious bar and dining area at the heart of the retreat – where delicious cuisine is utterly enjoyed. Built around a semi-evergreen wild mango tree, the chalets and main lodge are thatched in the traditional style, all offering superb panoramic views over the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park.
