- To broaden your knowledge of Thai Buddhism, its history, and culture.
- To immerse yourself in Buddhist teachings, deepen your understanding of meditation, and embrace the simplicity of life at the temple.
Schedule
Monday
- Introduction to Buddhism: Learn about meditation and Buddhist ethics (including how to show respect through prayer and kneeling, and appropriate conduct around monks).
- Watch a documentary about the Buddha and Buddhism.
Tuesday to Friday
- Visit several temples.
- Participate in morning and afternoon chanting and rituals at the temple (morning offering and chanting may commence from 4:00 AM onwards, and afternoon chanting from 5:00 PM onwards).
- Attend monk chat sessions to learn about Buddhism (both group and individual sessions will be offered).
- Engage in guided meditation sessions and daily self-meditation practices.
- Assist with temple cleaning.
- Offer alms and receive blessings from Buddhist monks.

During your time in Chiang Mai, you will be accommodated in comfortable lodgings equipped with standard amenities such as Wi-Fi, hot showers, and fans.
Our location also features an open and breath-taking lakeside, offering a tranquil space to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Additionally, there is a pleasant dining area where you can enjoy tea or coffee and converse with fellow travellers. For recreation, table tennis facilities are available at the centre.

Food Arrangements
All meals provided at the accommodation are home-style and vegetarian-friendly. You can typically expect Thai dishes, including plenty of rice or noodle-based meals with vegetables. Occasionally, meat and fish will also be served, along with seasonal fruits for dessert.
While we make every effort to cater to our participants, the majority of our meals feature local cuisine. If you are a particularly fussy eater, have allergies or dietary restrictions, or anticipate that you may not be satisfied with the local dishes offered, you might want to consider bringing your own Western-style foods and snacks that you prefer to supplement our menu.
In addition, predominantly Thai dishes (vegetarian and fish options) will be served during the trip itself.
Facilities
Along the route, though not consistently available, you will find ATMs and small local shops. Please ensure you have sufficient funds with you before the trip commences.
Mandatory Orientation Day
On the Monday of your first week at this location, you will attend our orientation day. This is designed to familiarise you with the local area and culture. Your programme will then continue as usual from Tuesday onwards for the remainder of the week.

- Thai Do’s and Don’ts, Thai Culture Lessons, and Thai Language Lessons.

- Doi Suthep: A must-see attraction, Doi Suthep is a mountain located just outside the city. Climb the 309 steps to reach Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a revered temple offering panoramic views of Chiang Mai.
